Athlete of the Month: February 2018
Sophia Reynolds of Andover, NH has been named the Athlete of the Month for February. At only 14 years old, Sophia is the early leader for this year’s Northeast Delta Dental Points Chase. Sophia has consistently been one of the top runners for every Millennium Running signature event for 2018. Her stellar run began at the Apple Therapy + Sports & Rehab Millennium Mile with a 2nd place finish for females. Her time of 5:04 put her at 25th overall, and the youngest finisher in the top 25!
Sophia was simply getting warmed up! Her next race, the HPM Insurance Snowflake Shuffle, saw her crack the top 10! Her time of 18:41.5 was fast enough for second in the overall female division. Sophia’s performances would be enough to dominate her age group, but she’s already competing with the best female runners in each race. Impressive stuff!
Sophia’s latest Millennium Running race, the Ameriprise Financial Mardi Gras 5k was her best yet! With another top 10 performance, Sophia shaved even more time off her 5k with a strong finish in 18:34.1. Sophia’s consistency and ability to race well against those who are more experienced showcase a unique talent. With a bright future ahead, we’re excited to see what she’s capable of! We hope you have fun running our races Sophia, and we can’t wait to follow your career as you progress to higher aspirations! Congratulations!
