ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: Justin Freeman, Amber Ferreira, and Meghan Skidmore
Men: New Hampton’s Justin Freeman was the top New Hampshire runner at the Cigna/Elliot Corporate 5K Road Race in Manchester. His time, 14:57, is the fastest 5K so far this year at a New Hampshire race.
Women: Two triathletes share the honor. Three weeks after winning Ironman Lake Placid Concord’s Amber Ferreira finished second at Ironman Mont-Tremblant in Canada, the Ironman North American championship. On the same day Intervale’s Meghan Skidmore was the top female at the Tri For Preservation sprint triathlon in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, the second time in two weeks that Skidmore won a triathlon outside of New Hampshire.
