MILLENNIUM RUNNING’S KIDS RUN FREE PROGRAM GUARANTEED FOR 3 YEARS WITH STUDENT TRANSPORTATION OF AMERICA’S SPONSORSHIP

STA’s commitment to the Kids Run Free Program begins on January First With the 2013 Millennium Mile in Londonderry, NH.

Millennium Running founder John Mortimer announced today a long-term commitment to the Millennium Running Kids Run Free program. As a natural extension of their service to the community, Student Transportation of America (STA) will be guaranteeing the program with a 3-year financial commitment to sponsor the initiative.

“This program is aimed at getting kids and families off the couch to exercise together,” stated Millennium Running’s founder John Mortimer. “We hope this starts to put a dent in childhood obesity and inspires families to be more healthy together.”

The Kids Run Free program provides free admission to kids 11 years of age and under, as well as providing free shirts and other benefits. STA has also generously signed on to be the official transportation provider of Millennium Running, in this role they will be providing shuttle services for participants at several Millennium Running events.

The Kids Run Free program started in 2012 with the generous support of MVP Health Care and their Generation Go kids wellness program. The initiative became an instant success as more than 3,000 kids had the opportunity to participate in Millennium Running Signature Events at no cost in 2012.

The Kids Run Free program gives families a great incentive to participate together in a healthy, active, and fun event. Millennium Running has designed events with promoting healthy family fun as the top priority. These nine signature events range in distance from just 1-mile, 3k, 2-miles, 3-miles, 5k, 5-miles and up to 10 miles. A full list of events is available at www.millenniumrunning.com
