Citizens Shamrock Races & St. Patrick’s Parade Return to Manchester This Weekend

Millennium Running Expects Over 2,500 Eager Runners and Walkers

MANCHESTER, NH – With the support of the City of Manchester and title sponsor Citizens, over 2,500 runners and walkers are expected in Millennium Running’s Citizens Shamrock Half Marathon & Relay and Citizens Shamrock Shuffle this weekend.

The Citizens Shamrock Half Marathon & Relay is a multi-loop, downtown, 13.1 mile course that will start at 8:50am on Saturday, March 26th.    Road closures, detours, and delays are outlined at https://www.millenniumrunning.com/road-race-notice-shamrock-race-weekend-325-26/21450

The Citizens Shamrock Shuffle is a family-friendly, 2 mile run/walk that takes place on Sunday, March 27th at 11:00am and immediately precedes the Manchester St. Patrick’s Parade.   After a 2-year absence due to Covid, the Parade makes its return to downtown Manchester, stepping off at noon on Sunday.

New Hampshire Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities NH, is the official charity of the Citizens Shamrock Half Marathon & Relay and Shuffle.  Millennium Running is expected to generate nearly $10,000 for the organization.   To date, Millennium Running and runners have raised over $25,000 for New Hampshire Food Bank and generated over 1.1 million dollars for local charities and organizations through its charitable efforts.

About The Author

John Mortimer is the owner and founder of Millennium Running. His extensive running background began in Londonderry, NH where he was a 12-time NH high school state champion. His running career took him to the University of Michigan where he became a 7-time NCAA All American and was honored as a member of the U of M Hall of Fame. John ran professional runner for Adidas and Reebok, and represented the United States on two occasions as member of Team USA. Before moving back to his home state of New Hampshire to start Millennium Running, John spent 10 years as a college coach at Harvard, Boston College and the University of Kentucky. He currently lives in Bedford, NH with his wife Jennifer and two sons, Jack and Liam.
