Weather Statement for Red, White & Brews Beer Relay

For Immediate Release – July 1, 2016 – 11:30am EST

Millennium Running and the operations team at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway are working closely together to monitor the weather forecast for tonight’s Red, White & Brews Beer Relay scheduled for 8pm on the NHMS track, pit row, and infield.

Millennium Running plans to produce the event to the best of our ability as scheduled – rain or shine.  However, the safety of participants, spectators, vendors and employees are of paramount importance.  In the event of severe weather that includes thunderstorms and lightning, all attendance to the event will be expected to adhere to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway inclement weather protocol as follows:

  • All Lightning strikes will be picked up by the NHMS radar tracking system within a 30 mile radius of the track.
  • Attendees will be notified via the stadium public address system of any lightning strikes within 10 miles and the event will be suspended immediately
  • All participants, spectators, vendors, and employees will be required to take shelter at any of the 3 dedicated facilities on the infield: North Infield Garage, Infield Restaurant, and Media Center.
  • There will be a 30 minute wait period to resume the event after the last reported lightning strike within a 10 mile radius.

There will be no refunds in the event of inclement weather, delays, or should the event need to be terminated for safety.

The only exception is that any groups that pre-purchased Camping at the NHMS.  Those individuals must request a refund for Camping via email (contact@millenniumrunning.com) prior to 6pm, tonight.
