Andy’s Roundup: A Dog’s World in Manchester…and more
My Dogs Are Barking 5K- For the past few years Laconia’s Sam Wood has established himself as one of the top runners in New Hampshire. On Saturday, September 20 Wood proved he can also run fast when accompanied by “man’s best friend”. Wood was the top finisher at the My Dogs Are Barking 5K at Derryfield Park, a race that drew 255 runners and walkers, many of who participated with their dogs. With a leash tied around his waist and his dog, Tucker, running by his side Wood finished the race in 16 minutes, 56 seconds.
Top female was Manchester’s Karyn Beaudette who did not run with a dog and finished in 21:38. Top female with a dog was Raymond’s Nova Clifford who was also second overall.

Horne Street School 5K- For the eighth time in 2014 Dover’s Nathan Huppe was the winner of a northern New England road race when he topped the field at the Horne Street School 5K in Dover. Huppe ran 16:29 to beat a field that included 587 runners at a race that was the latest in the 2014 Dover Race Series.
Top female was Dover’s Katie Tsigounis in 21:18
