Athlete of the Month: Larisa Dannis – February 2013
An avid hiker, runner and enthusiast of protecting New Hampshire’s mountains, we are proud to announce Larisa Dannis as Millennium Running’s February 2013 athlete of the month!
Larissa Dannis moved to NH with her family from London when she was just 11 years old. She began exploring with hiking; from there she progressed into trail running, and from trail running she got into ultra running. Now she’s running 100-mile races! Adding on road races she has since found her success in many places, including winning the Winter Beast of Burden 50 Mile, and most recently representing NH at the Haynnis marathon! Despite a pelting rain and a stinging wind as backdrop for the marathon, an estimated 3,500 runners embraced the conditions; one of whom was Dannis. Unfazed by the rainy and windy weather, she was the first place womans finisher with time of 3:06.36!
Join us in congratulating her on her success! Great Job Larisa, we’re proud to call you a NH girl!
