Athlete of the Week: Justin Freeman & Larissa Dannis – 7/22 – 7/29/14
Female:Larissa Dannis, Strafford – All hail Ms. Dannis!! All she did this past weekend is travel to California and finish second at the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run, the world’s oldest and most prestigious ultra marathon 100 mile trail race. Dannis finished the race in 18 hours, 29 minutes only 28 minutes behind the winner. Dannis was also 22nd out of the 297 official participants who finished in under the required 30 hours necessary to earn one of the coveted Western States Endurance belt buckles. With this performance Dannis has established herself as one of the premier ultra marathoners in the country and has brought tremendous pride and honor to the Granite State running community!! |
Male:Justin Freeman, New Hampton – Freeman won the Aurlow Stanley Memorial – DARE 5K Road Race in Northfield in 15: 47. It was the fastest 5K for any New Hampshire runner at a Granite State race over the weekend. It also capped off a strong week for Freeman who was the top New Hampshire runner at this year’s Northeast Delta Dental Mt. Washington Road Race on June 21. |
