Mary Klene of Manchester, NH is our CMC Athlete of the Month for March. Running for the Millennium Racing Team, Mary showed off her speed the last weekend of March with victories at the inaugural Shamrock Half Marathon and Northeast Delta Dental Shamrock Shuffle in back-to-back days.

Klene took home the win at the Shamrock Half Marathon with a time of 1:28:19 – a 6:45 per mile average. But perhaps more impressive was her encore performance the next day at the Northeast Delta Dental Shamrock Shuffle when Mary averaged 5:49 per mile to be the top overall female of the 2-mile race in 11:38.

Every month, we recognize and celebrate the achievements of two members of the community. One male and one female athlete, as nominated by their peers, will be chosen to be honored as the Catholic Medical Center Athlete of the Month. We are not just looking at those who consistently finish at the front of the pack but also at those who demonstrate exemplary character and are a positive influence on their community. These qualities include, but are not limited to, dedication, commitment, leadership, and perseverance. About The Author

John Mortimer

John Mortimer is the owner and founder of Millennium Running. His extensive running background began in Londonderry, NH where he was a 12-time NH high school state champion. His running career took him to the University of Michigan where he became a 7-time NCAA All American and was honored as a member of the U of M Hall of Fame. John ran professional runner for Adidas and Reebok, and represented the United States on two occasions as member of Team USA. Before moving back to his home state of New Hampshire to start Millennium Running, John spent 10 years as a college coach at Harvard, Boston College and the University of Kentucky. He currently lives in Bedford, NH with his wife Jennifer and two sons, Jack and Liam.
