CMC Athlete of the Month: October 2017
Kathleen Fencil
Kathleen Fencil of Nashua, NH has been named the CMC Athlete of the Month for October. Kathleen has seen her share of setbacks in 2017, as she started the year with heart valve surgery, only to overcome the struggles of a serious car accident this summer. Anyone who knows Kathleen, however, understands that it takes a lot more than that to keep her down! Kathleen, at 72 years young, has been quietly completing Millennium Running races these last few months, culminating in an inspirational finish of the Traveler Beer New England Half Marathon in a time of 3:31:27. The road to the finish line was full of hardship, but Kathleen took it all in stride. When the NE Half Marathon came around, she became the only female finisher in her division! Kathleen has guts, grit, and determination; and we just can’t wait for her to defend her division title again next year! Way to go Kathleen – Millennium Running’s Comeback Kid!
