CMC Athlete of the Month: September 2017
Jacqueline Gaughan
Jacqueline Gaughan of Exeter, NH has been named the CMC Athlete of the Month for September. When it comes to dominating opponents on the cross country course, Jackie Gaughan is one of the best. Coming into the 2017 NH High School Cross Country season, Jacqueline was a heavy favorite to repeat as state champion. While the pressure to succeed can be too much for others, Jacqueline seems to thrive! She has had a controlling September to start her season, which came to a head against some of the nation’s top high school distance runners at the 43rd Annual Manchester Invitational. Undeterred, Jackie put the rest of the pack behind her on her way to victory. At 17:57, she was a full 19 seconds ahead of her closest competition! We wish Jacqueline the best on the rest of her senior season, and can’t wait to see what’s in store for such a promising talent!

We are not just looking at those who consistently finish at the front of the pack but also at those who demonstrate exemplary character and are a positive influence on their community. These qualities include, but are not limited to, dedication, commitment, leadership, and perseverance.
