Millennium Running Event Updates on COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Like so many of you and so many facets of life within our communities, this situation is unprecedented and especially challenging for our events-based small business.   Our team at Millennium Running have been working tirelessly to provide our registrants with the best possible customer experience.

Below are the lasted updates to keep our customers and running community informed of the status of upcoming Millennium Running Signature Events affected by COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

March 19, 2020 – 2:00pm

The Stonyfield Earth Day 5k set for April 18, 2020 is unable to proceed as scheduled.

Along with Stonyfield Organic, our municipal partners in the Town of Londonderry, and the Londonderry Parks & Recreation Department, we are exploring alternative options for the event to include at postponement at a later date.  It goes without saying that our community leaders and partners have a lot on their plates right now so it may take a few days or even weeks to work out all the logistics.    We intend on communicating directly with all participants, updating this website, and via our social media accounts as soon as it is feasible in order to give you the best options possible prior to issuing refunds/transfers.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this unprecedented situation.

March 16, 2020 – 4:10pm

In adherence to Federal and State mandates and in cooperation with the Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Cheap Marathon planned for Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the Salisbury State Park is cancelled.  Due to the nature of the venue and its popularity in the warmer months, there is no postponement option.

As it pertains to the registrants of the 2020 Cheap Marathon, please read following items below.

  1.  All registrants of the 2020 Cheap Marathon (marathon, half, ultra and relays) will receive an email on Tuesday with a coupon credit valued at 100% of their original entry free paid.  (Code will be valid for any Millennium Signature road race over the next 12 months including the 2021 Cheap Marathon.)
  2. If you pre-purchased any apparel items during your registration (i.e. Cheap Shirt or Cheap Hat), you will receive a 100% refund for those purchased items.  Within 72 hours, you will see those as credits back onto your credit card.
  3. All registrants will receive their mileage (13.1, 26.2, etc.., whichever distance registered for) in the Elliot Millennium Series and completion of one race in the Stonyfield Organic Green Stride Series.  There will be no “points” awarded in the Delta Dental Points Chase.

March 13, 2020 – 3:45pm

The Citizens Bank Shamrock Half Marathon & Relay (Saturday, March 28, 2020), Citizen Bank Shamrock Shuffle (Sunday, March 29, 2020) are unable to proceed as scheduled.

Along with our municipal partners in the City of Manchester, we are exploring alternative options for these events to include a postponement to a later date.  It goes without saying that our community leaders have a lot on their plates right now so it may take a few days or even weeks to work out all the logistics.    We intend on communicating directly with all participants via email, this website, and our social media accounts as soon as it is feasible in order to give you the best options possible prior to issuing refunds/transfers..

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this unprecedented situation.

March 12, 2020 – 3:25pm

All other future Millennium Signature Events remain as scheduled.  Any changes to future events will be communicated on our website and directly to registrants via email.

Our team at Millennium Running have been working tirelessly to provide our registrants with the best possible customer experience.  As it pertains to the registrants of the 2020 St. Patty’s 5k/10k & Pub Crawl, please read following 3 items below.

March 12, 2020 – 9:30am

Millennium Running will be cancelling the “Early bib pick-up” for the St. Patty’s 5k & 10k scheduled for Thursday, March 12th and Friday, March 13th  at the Millennium Running Retail Store.

Our operations team will continue to review this fast moving issue and update you directly and immediately with more updates.

March 11, 2020 – 4:10pm

As with every event produced by our team at Millennium Running, the number one priority is the health and safety of our participants, charity groups, spectators, and staff.

We have been, and will continue to be, in communication with our local municipal partners and health officials to remain diligent in monitoring the global, regional, and local impact of COVID-19 (coronavirus).   We will adhere to all Federal, State, and City/Town policies; however, at the present time there have been no scheduling changes for any Millennium Running Signature Events, to include the upcoming St. Patty’s 5k & 10k, the Citizens Bank Shamrock Half Marathon & Shuffle, and Cheap Marathon.

We will provide any updates directly to participants via email as well as our social media accounts and website.

In the meantime, Millennium Running is taking the following steps and precautions at the St. Patty’s 5k & 10k scheduled for Saturday, March 14th at 10am.

Refunds/Transfers:  If any participant does not feel well, we request them to NOT ATTEND the event, (including early bib pick up).   As such, Millennium will make the following exception to our already runner-friendly refund policy:

Any person(s) wishing not to attend St. Patty’s 5k & 10k due to illness, those that are immunocompromised, or have a fear of exposure to others, will be granted a 100% credit to any future Millennium Running Signature Road Races over the next year.    To receive a credit, all request must be made online via our Transfer Form (http://www.millenniumrunning.com/transfer) by 11:59pm on Friday, March 13, 2020.

Social Distancing and Hygiene:  We ask our attendees to give each other space at the venue and during the event (i.e.  give each other plenty of space in line at the Port-o-johns or at bib pick up) and practice precautionary hygiene.   As such, Millennium is taking the following steps to help:

  1. Start Line Procedures: In order to eliminate critical masses in the starting line chute, we are increasing the size of the corral and will be doing a rolling-start by pace over a 14-minute starting period.    Our operation team will announce smaller cohorts of participants by self-seeded paces into the starting area beginning with the runners of 6:00 pace and faster at 10am sharp and continuing every 60-90 seconds back to 12:00 pace and walkers.    Please look for our pace signs and listen to our announcer.
  2. Port-o-johns: We have increased the number of port-o-johns on site and spread the units apart to help mitigate lines and clusters of people. All units have hand sanitizer.
  3. Hand Sanitizer Units: Dedicated hand sanitizer stations to be located in the registration / post-race areas and outside of the port-o-john areas – please use them!
  4. Results: All results will be live to the web online at millenniumrunning.com.  Additionally, results will be texted (by those that opted in) and emailed immediately following the event.   There will be no on-site results displayed.
  5. Gloves: All Charity Groups and Millennium Running employees that interact with the runners will be wearing medical gloves (water stops, bib numbers, apparel, recycling).
  6. Race Day Registration: To mitigate person-to-person contact, there will be NO race day registration.   Online Registration closes at 11:59pm on Friday, March 13, 2020.
  7. Bib Number Pick Up:  In order to avoid longer lines at Race Day Registration, we have added another day to Early Bib Number Pick Up to include Thursday, March 12th and Friday, March 13th (10am-7pm) at the Millennium Running Store in Bedford, NH.
  8. Post-Race Food: This will be limited to grab-n-go options to include whole fruit, Powerade, Dasani water, and Stonyfield Yogurt.
  9. Warming Tent: The temperatures look to be warmer, so we are eliminating the very popular Eastern Propane & Oil Warming Tent.
