Hagley Runs 2016 US Olympic Trials Marathon Standard
December 7, 2014
Lebanon resident and member of the Millennium Running women’s elite racing team, Laura Hagley finished the California International Marathon in 2 hours, 39 minutes 55 seconds to rank as the 12th overall women in an impressive international and professional field of over 9,000 athletes. Not only was Hagley’s performance a huge improvement from her personal best of 2:47:13 from the 2013 Chicago Marathon, it qualifies her for the 2016 US Olympic Trial Marathon by eclipsing the 2:43:00 “B” standard.
The 2016 Olympic Trials will be held Feb. 13, 2016. With separate starts, the men’s and women’s races both will be carried in their entirety on NBC.
This caps off an impressive 2014 running campaign that included winning the New England Half Marathon in September (1:18:37) and the Buffalo Half Marathon in May (1:18:01). Hagley also won the Manchester Mile in July covering the downhill course in 4 minutes and 31 seconds and was a vital member of the Millennium Running women’s team that won the 2015 USATF-New England Grand Prix’s team championship.
