As a family-owned, small business, Millennium Running has a core principle of supporting our local community and nonprofit organizations,” stated Millennium Running owner & founder, John Mortimer. “While we pride ourselves on producing first class events and advocating wellness, most importantly, it is our mission to give back to our community”
96 different organizations received a total of $273,599 from the proceeds and fundraising of Millennium Running’s events in the 2023 calendar year.
The Solinsky Center for Cancer Care at The Elliot was named Millennium Running’s official Charity of the Year in 2023: and will receive $24,920. In addition to being the Charity of the Year, the Solinsky Center for Cancer Care at The Elliot was also the primary beneficiary of the Delta Dental / Elliot Corporate 5k. In total, the nonprofit will receive $41,544 in 2023.
“We are proud of our long-standing partnership with Millennium Running through our collaboration on the Delta Dental/Elliot Corporate Race held each August. Being a part of this year’s Charity Partner program was a wonderful addition to the support the local running community shows for the programs of the Solinsky Center for Cancer Care and to the mission and vision of John and Jen at Millennium Running. We are deeply grateful for this wonderful giving in 2023,” said Kelli Rafferty, Executive Director of Philanthropy & Community Benefit at The Elliot.
“Unfortunately, cancer is something that touches just about every person in some way,” stated Mortimer. “Both my parents received care from the Elliot’s cancer centers so it is personally rewarding to give back to an organization that provided care and compassion to me and my family during difficult times.”
