For Immediate Release
August 27, 2019
Bedford, NH – Millennium Running and the Granite State Health & Fitness Foundation announced today that Catholic Medical Center (CMC) has signed on to be as the new title partner of Manchester City Marathon.
The CMC Manchester City Marathon will take the streets of the Queen City for the 13th year on Sunday, November 10, 2019. The event is once again scheduled to start live on WMUR at 8:50am and will be comprised of a marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon, 5k (3.1 miles), and marathon/half marathon relays.
Veterans Count, a program of Easterseals NH, which supports military veterans and their families, will remain as the official charity of the event. As such, the organization will receive charitable donations directly from the event proceeds as well as participant peer-to-peer fundraising. Moreover, Veterans Count will be supporting the event operations by having volunteers serving as course marshals.
“Our mission at Millennium Running is to produce first class events for our running community that in –turn boosts the local economy and supports local charities,” stated race director and Millennium Running founder, John Mortimer. “The 2019 CMC Manchester City Marathon and the tens of thousands of dollars raised annually for Veterans would not be possible without the support of our friends at Catholic Medical Center.”
”There is a natural tie between health and running, and we’re excited to play a bigger role in the Marathon and to support Veterans Count in the process,” said CMC President & CEO Joseph Pepe, MD. CMC has been the medical tent sponsor of the Marathon for the last several years. “At CMC, our mission is to offer Health, Healing and Hope to our community – we see all of these qualities in the runners and in the work of Veterans Count and we applaud the work done both on and off the race course.”
“Veterans Count is honored to continue our partnership with the CMC Manchester City Marathon and Millennium Running as the official charity,” said Joe Emmons, Chief Development Officer. “The passion and support of organizations like these us to continue to provide services and resources to NH veterans and their families.” Online registration is currently open for the Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay, and 5k at www.millenniumrunning.com/marathon.
