Run To Remember Returns to Boston on Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend
6,000+ Runners Will Raise Money for Run To Remember 1st Responders Inc.
Boston, MA – May 25, 2023 – In coordination with the City of Boston, Boston Police Department, Massachusetts Port Authority, Massachusetts State Police, Boston EMS, Department of Conservation and Recreation, and under the direction of Millennium Running, the 18th annual Xfinity Boston’s Run To Remember is returning to the streets of Boston on Sunday morning, May 28th.
The event pays tribute and honors the fallen members of the law enforcement and 1st responder’s community. Boston Police Commissioner, Michael Cox will serve as the official race starter.
Xfinity is the title sponsor for the 2023 Xfinity Boston’s Run To Remember that will see over 6,000 participants, representing 48 states in the half marathon (13.1 miles) and the 5 mile run.
Race day headquarters and the common start / finish line for both distances is in the Seaport District on Seaport Blvd in front of the Seaport Hotel. The half marathon is scheduled to start at 7:00am, while the 5 Miler will start 45 minutes later at 7:45am.
The 13.1 mile course will run through numerous neighborhoods and landmarks including the Seaport, the Old State House, City Hall Plaza, Beacon Hill, into Cambridge and Memorial Drive, back to Boston Common, Theatre District and Post Office Square. In addition to honoring the fallen, Xfinity Boston’s Run To Remember also raises valuable funds for numerous community based charities, including the official charity, Run To Remember 1st Responders Inc.
The half marathon distance will serve as the 2023 Championship for USA Track & Field New England. Elite athletes from the region’s top running clubs like Boston Athletics Association, Tracksmith, and Greater Boston Track Club will be competing for $6,000 in prize money. Additionally, members of local police and fire departments will be competing for $1,000 in prize money and bragging rights in the annual 1st Responders Team Challenge.
