History of the Manchester Shamrock Shuffle
The idea of having an Irish themed road race was formed by Millennium Running founder, John Mortimer.
Partnering with the Manchester Saint Patrick’s Parade Committee the roadwork was laid towards combining a road race with Manchester’s annual St. Patrick’s Parade.
The race was an immediate success, bringing in 1257 registrants in it’s first year. Year two brought in another first for Millennium Running, a completely event sold out event at 3000 runners.
Millennium Running is proud to be the lead sponsor for the Saint Patrick’s Parade Committee for this event. Going into it’s 3rd year, The Northeast Delta Dental Shamrock Shuffle is sure to be a success in 2013!
