Families from all around the state began showing up Thanksgiving morning a little before 8:00am for this new holiday tradition. The crowd of over 2500 participants gathered on Commercial St. just outside of Northeast Delta Dental Stadium’s right field wall for the start of the race. The group was filled with runners and walkers, tons of families, several runners dressed in holiday costumes.
“We are so excited to see such an amazing turnout for this great event that supports such a great cause!” Said Millennium Running’s John Mortimer. “I love looking around and seeing all these families out this morning staying active, healthy, and supporting the New Hampshire Hospital for Children.”
Millennium Running worked closely with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats again this year to ensure that this year’s race was an even greater success than last year. This year’s festivities included a Thanksgiving Eve Party hosted by the Fisher Cats where participants could pick up their bib numbers and also register if they hadn’t done so yet.
“We are excited to see the growth of this event as a new family Thanksgiving tradition,” said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. “With our partners at Millennium Running and the event’s presenting sponsor, MVP Health Care, we enjoyed being a part of this fun event that benefits the outstanding work of New Hampshire’s Hospital for Children.”
The charitable beneficiary for this year’s race is New Hampshire’s Hospital for Children. Millennium Running is proud to continue to support the community with healthy activities for participants as well as charitable donations to many great causes.
