RELAY TIMING CHIPS & EXCHANGE PROCEDURE
All relay teams will be given a velcro timing chip in their team packet. This chip gets passed from teammate to teammate at each relay exchange zone and will capture individual relay leg times for all athletes as well as the team’s overall finishing time.

Please ensure the timing chip is securely adhered around your ankle as it will not function properly in any other location.

Each relay exchange zone will consist of an archway followed by an exchange zone corral. As a teammate approaches the finish of their relay leg, the next teammate will enter the exchange zone corral through the “Athlete Entrance / Exit” break in the barricades. The finishing athlete will run over the timing mats, then remove the timing chip which will then be passed to the next runner. The next athlete will adhere the timing chip to their ankle and begin their relay leg by running back out through the archway.

If an athlete is running two or more consecutive legs (2 and 3 person teams), those runners will finish each leg and begin the next one by running under the archway, turning around, and running back out under the arch and over the timing mats without removing or passing their timing chip.
